Switch medication from escitalopram to moclobemide.[1] [2]

  • Before day 1: gradually reduce dosage of escitalopram to a maximum of 10 mg/day, when this dosage is >10 mg/day.
  • Day 1: reduce dosage of escitalopram to a maximum of 5 mg/day.
  • Day 8: stop administration of escitalopram.

  • Day 8-22: a wash-out period of 2 weeks is necessary.
  • Day 23: start administration of moclobemide in normal dosage of 300 mg/day, if necessary increase dose with 25% (up to 50%) of the target dose every 3 days.
