Venlafaxine-escitalopram

Switch medication from venlafaxine to escitalopram.[1] [2]
Stop venlafaxine - Day 1-14: gradually reduce dosage of venlafaxine to a maximum of 37,5 mg or 75 mg (slow release)/ day.
- Day 15: stop administration of venlafaxine
Start escitalopram- No wash-out period is needed.
- Day 15: start escitalopram in a normal dosage of 10 mg/day.
