Mianserine-venlafaxine

Switch medication from mianserine to venlafaxine.[1] [2]
Stop mianserine - Before day 1: gradually reduce dosage of mianserine to a maximum of 60 mg/ day.
- Day 1: reduce a dosage of 60 mg/day to 30 mg/day.
- Day 8: stop administration of mianserine.
Start venlafaxine- Day 1: Simultaneously Start administration of venlafaxine in a normal dosage of 37,5 mg or 75 mg (slow release) /day.
- Day 8: Continue administration of venlafaxine. If necessary, increase the dosage of venlafaxine.
Cave- Occurrence of serotonin syndrome is (not very likely) possible, so caution is necessary.
