Switch medication from sertraline to citalopram.[1] [2]

  • Gradually reduce dosage of sertraline to a maximum of 50 mg/ day, when this dosage is > 50 mg/day.
  • When a dosage of 50 mg/day is reached, stop administration.

  • No wash-out period is needed.
  • Start citalopram/escitalopram the next day in normal dosage of 20 mg/day, resp. 10 mg/day.
