Adding quetiapine to gabapentin.
- Gabapentin is eliminated unchanged by the kidney for 100%.
- Quetiapine is principally metabolized by CYP3A4 to active and inactive metabolites.
- This combination of drugs may have possible synergistic effects. There are no reports for pharmacokinetic drug interactions. However, the combination will have additional side effects. [6]
- Start quetiapine according to the general dosing advice.
- Central nervous system- and/or respiratory-depressant effects may be additively or synergistically increased in patients taking multiple drugs that cause these effects. [7]
