Switch medication from fenelzine to vortioxetine[1][2]
- Day 1: decrease the original dose with about 25% every 3 days.
- Day 9: stop administration of fenelzine.
- Stop and wait 14 days for washout[3]
- A wash-out period of two weeks is necessary.
- Day 23: start administration of vortioxetine in a normal dosage of 10 mg/day. [4]
- Occurrence of the serotonin syndrome is possible without a wash-out period.
- After the last dose of tranylcypromine and/or fenelzine it takes about 14 days to restore the activity of the MAO enzymes
