Adding ziprasidone to quetiapine.
- Quetiapine is principally metabolized by CYP3A4 to active and inactive metabolites.
- Ziprasidone is metabolized by CYP1A2 (minor) and CYP3A4.
- Start ziprasidone according to the general dosing advice.
- Quetiapine may have additive adverse cardiovascular effects in combination with other drugs that are known to prolong the QT interval of the electrocardiogram. [5]
