Adding risperidone to ziprasidone.
- Ziprasidone is metabolized by CYP1A2 (minor) and CYP3A4.
- Risperidone is principally metabolized by CYP2D6 to an active metabolite 9-OH-risperidone (paliperidone).
- Stop ziprasidone before starting risperidone.
- The concurrent use of ziprasidone with other medications that can prolong the QT interval is considered contraindicated.[4]
